So, what IS a CBC, Cap?

As I said on the main page, I have my own definition for what a CBC is. However, in short- It is a character based on an already existing character, notably heavily in terms of design.
Where my own definition of it comes in, however- is that I think there are levels to it.

Level 1: Character-Inspired

A character-inspired CBC is the most loose form of CBC- as the name of level 1 suggests, it is only very loosely inspired by the character, though may be more heavily inspired in terms of design. For examples, The Delivery Crew's cast are character-inspired, and very loosely at that. Sometimes the design may also be rather heavily modified so it barely resembles the original character, hence why I call this the loosest definition.

Level 2: Character-Based/Animalified

The level most CBCs fall into, and the one that CBC stands for (in at least one definition). This is a version of the character that is basically the same, though with personal flair or symbolism added in, though that may be absent. They may also still have their own plot, but still bare a lot of similarity in appearance and personality to the original character in question. This is the level I believe most of mine fall into, and the ones on here are classified as. These ones can be as closely inspired as a Dekudog or as loosely inspired as a character-inspired CBC, as this is a large and fluid category.

Level 3: Dekudog

A 'Dekudog' is a term that is often used derogatorily toward CBCs, to say "this is just [insert character here] but [insert animal here]"- the name coming from Izuku Midoriya, or Deku, from My Hero Academia, and one of the more common CBC animals- a dog. A generic dog. I have a much stricter definition: A Dekudog is an animalified version of a character with no personal flair. This means that there are no markings, no symbolism, if there are markings it's more than likely just the outfit of the character. If there isn't markings they may still have the character's outfit anyway. Essentially- yes, I do use it derogatarily, as these are the closest CBCs to the original character.

Kinsonas

A kinsona is not a level of CBC, rather a different offshoot entirely. A Kinsona can be as loose or as close to a character as you would like it to be. I have no place to say anything more about this though, as I do not kin characters.
